Indian Cupid is specially designed for Non-Resident Indians who have spread across the globe. It offers an in depth search engine, allowing you to find precisely the sort of person you’re looking for, with communication tools, favorite members lists, extensive profiles and more.

This website is specifically for NRI’s or people who are hoping to meet NRI’s. As such it won’t be of use to you if you’re looking for Indian dates within India, but if you’re hoping to be in a relationship with an Indian person who lives in a country other than India, it’s potentially a great resource.

The site is fairly basic, providing the means to search for or be matched to other members, and then allowing you to chat via private messages. You can also send flirts as a way of showing you’re interested in someone, if you don’t want to write them a personal message.

Free membership allows you to perform a search and view members’ profiles, which tend to offer enough information to give you a good idea as to whether you’d be compatible. Alternatively you can view your automated matches, which are based on the information you provided when you signed up. 

The sign up process has been improved and you can now skip some sections and complete them later, which is great if you don’t fancy spending hours filling in boxes before you get to check out who else is on the site. You can also upload multiple high quality photos, and many members have done so.

When we logged on to IndianCupid.com there were dozens of members online and ready to chat. Unfortunately none of them were our matches, but this isn’t to say that you shouldn’t check out members who aren’t your matches. You can also improve your matching possibilities by adapting your preferences on your profile.

At times, IndianCupid is too simplistic. We felt there was a need for more communication tools. The lack of an instant messenger made communicating a bit staggered and unnatural, and there are no webcam options. We also think that community features such as blog posts, diaries or forums would help to bring a bit more atmosphere to the site.

Prices are reasonable and affordable, though you can find other Indian Dating websites with higher membership numbers and more features, at a similar price.  That said, if you decide to try the basic membership for free, you can take a look around, check out a few profiles and decide whether you’d like to get in touch with other members. This free option is better than on some other dating sites, where you can be severely restricted in navigating the pages.

IndianCupid has a really in depth search engine which allows you to be incredibly specific about who you’d like to find. If there’s a particular aspect of someone’s life which you feel is very important (their religion, eating habits, location, caste, family life and so on) then you’ll be able to narrow in on that here.

In conclusion, Indian Cupid could use a few more communication tools and members, but it’s still a decent dating site worth considering, especially if you’re interested in meeting Indian members who live outside of India.
